This six-month Fellowship helped create a vision that transformed learning in his district. ![]() For his efforts to use technology to foster personalized learning, he was chosen to participate in the first cohort for the Lexington Education Leadership Award. Students being leaders of their own learning is a cornerstone of Dr. In 2017, he was chosen as the New Jersey Superintendent of the Year by the New Jersey Association of School Administrators. Kasun was serving his seventh year as superintendent in Freehold. Prior to coming to lead Lawrence Township, Dr. He then served as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in Summit and followed by superintendent in Colts Neck for three years before his appointment as superintendent of the Freehold Township School District. Kasun's administrative career began as principal in South Orange-Maplewood and then principal in Milburn. Ross Kasun joined Lawrence Township Public Schools as the Superintendent of Schools in 2018. He has over 25 years of experience in public education, with the first five years as an elementary school teacher.
